MAIRA KALMAN :: AIGA/NY Small Talk

Welcome to an evening of pouring prosecco, hanging with lovely people and enjoying a much needed laugh. I volunteered tonight at illustrator/writer Maira Kalman's Small Talk for AIGA/NY. This was one of those lectures where I left feeling good. It wasn't long and she didn't repeat what I already know about design.
I left wanting to take a daily walk and be inspired by something at the moment. She mentioned the newness in found objects and it really made me think of how much I overlook on a daily basis. She quoted a postcard she found and so I will leave you with this::

Duckie Brown Fall 09

I just got back from the Duckie Brown show at the tents in Bryant Park and it was great. Technology is amazing because WWD already has the pictures up of the show with a very concise review. I'll let the experts explain the details in the fashion and I will only add that i loved the orange accents, Sean O, and the blanket scarf in the second shot :)

Russ Mills

Can we talk about Russ Mills for a hot second! His work is so full of energy... There are so many illustrators that I love but there are few that I would want up as art in my house and he is one of them... this I LOVE!
