Stella Im Hulberg

Brooklyn based artist, Stella Im Hulberg, has such an incredible ability to capture emotion in her paintings and drawings. Her mixed-media drawings show incredible technique and feel similar to Audrey Kawasaki's work who I've posted about before. She has actually collaborated with Audrey in the image below.

Spring Awakening

Spring Awakening was such a great show! An emotional roller coaster not usually expected from a musical. It was playful and fun but has such great moments.
There aren't too many days left so get your tickets before Jan 18!

The House of Viktor & Rolf

The new website launching the spring/summer 09 collection for Viktor & Rolf is beautiful. An interactive world that captivates from the start. I'm a huge fan of the runway show in "The Grand Salon" featuring Shalom Harlow... Its just beautifully edited to the music.

Chocolates!

My chocolates just dropped at Bloomingdale's! Its a luxury line of a bookcase with 5 different chocolates (also sold separately) and a small drawer with little chocolate squares. They were months in the making and I had stopped believing they were ever going to come to existence. They taste great so go get some :)

I promise to get some better pictures in the future but I was too excited to wait.

Yulia Brodskaya

Yulia Brodskaya
is doing with paper what Si Scott does with ink and it's seriously blowing my mind. Love it!

Expandable Bookcase by Reinier De Jong

Love the aesthetics of the Rek bookcase by Reinier De Jong :)

Paco Peregrin

Spanish photographer, Paco Peregrin, is creating some super exciting images... His "wonderland" story (above) is by far my favorite but I also love "In the room" story (Below).

I wish his website showcased his work a little better but at least it's designed.

Julia Fullerton-Batten

Im clearly in love with the current pop surrealist movement that's gained strength this year but has been rising for the past 10 years. Julia Fullerton-Batten editorial - Teenage Stories - is great.

Stop Motion from Books

This Is Where We Live from 4th Estate is a short animation that is really great. It took Three weeks and 1000 books to create. Enjoy

Sicis's Wall art

Great new glass-tile wall mosaics by Sicis.

Antoni Gaudí is by far one of my favorite artists. His Parque Güell (pictured below from my last trip to spain) made me fall in love with Barcelona and it's because of his beautiful tile work. The thought of being able to have that effect in a home is absolutely amazing to me.

Oded Ezer's Typography

Another amazing typographer - this first image from his homage collection is pretty hot. Milton Glaser a la Oded Ezer :)

Chanel Silent Movie

Such a great little silent tribute movie directed by Karl Lagerfeld with Edita Vilkeviciute as the young Coco Chanel. I just love that old glamor

H&M Holiday Commercials

H&M's latest online holiday commercials are so great. The surrealism is super playful and fun to watch. The whole websites interface is pretty playful and great for this campaign.
Click on the blue box for films :)

AIGA: The Dinner Party

Tonight was AIGA's event to recognize the relationship between Design and Restaurants. The lectures were great but the best was learning about Foie Gras from Dan Barber, who became aware that some foods are an insult to history.
Matteo Bologna, of Mucca Design, did a great job of speaking while having his jaw wired shut from a recent "old New York" enconter. His lecture on the multiple logos of Pastis and the vintage look of Balthazar and Pravda remained the same as when he spoke in Stevens Point while incorporating some new projects.

One very very lonely calorie. Pepsi Max

Love these ads by Advertising Agency: BBDO, Düsseldorf, Germany. So morbid but so cool

Stephen Sprouse for Louis Vuitton... Again

To celebrate Stephen Sprouse's book and exhibition at Deitch Projects, Louis Vuitton is re-releasing its 2001 collaboration plus some other items, and Marc Jacobs (shot by Terry Richardson) is the poster boy for the campaign. I love how Marc's art direction merges urban art with this high fasion brand. this quote sums it up:

"It's about taking something that's very iconic and revered and defacing it and creating something new, somewhat rebellious, and kind of punk..." -Marc Jacobs

HM for the Home

H&M is releasing an online only home collection coming out in the spring.

Coraline-The biggest smallest movie

Focus Features rarely disappoints and the little sneak peaks for this movie are so great. The attention to detail on the puppets is insane. Coraline was made by hand and is the first in its kind to be filmed in 3D. To view the little clips you have to enter a passcode. I've included some passcodes - love the way this all happens on the website :)

Thank You Harvey Milk

Milk was powerful. I only want to say:: Thank You Harvey Milk. Sadly we've still got a ways to go... All in all, the movie made me smile so I had to post, but the subject made me super sad. I can't believe the fight is still the same, I can't believe 30 years later the fight never ended.
