Poppycock by Martyn Thompson

Beautiful exhibition at CoolGraySevenFineArt by Martyn Thompson. The work reflected the transformation of found image that had been distressed, destroyed and deconstructed by bleaching, dying and above all, reconsidering through creative crops. The levels of digestion are amazing as you try to decipher what it is you are looking at. whether its crude cave-man like murals or photographs of cliffs that mentally bring you in, its the level of consideration and visual reconstruction that allow you to fall into the photographs. My personal favorite was Poppycock #53 - digesting the image was easy... loving it was easier.

Chanel Mobile Art Exhibition

Karl Lagerfeld commissioned architect Zaha Hadid to create this incredible structure. The show features the work of 15 artists all inspired Chanel's iconic 2.55 bag. What makes this so impressive is the fluidity of the whole experience. Everything is so carefully controlled and yet the experience is completely unique to each person. You walk through the space guided by the raspy chanel-like voice of French film icon Jeanne Moreau. The soundtrack in your ears blends perfectly with the sounds projected from the art. Everyone is moving at different times and it really feels like you are participating in some sort of conceptual modern dance peace that has been beautifully choreographed by all the people involved.
